Kirkwood Collection began its portfolio of boutique California hotels with 97 Lake Shore in 2012. 97 Lake Shore offers a glimpse into California’s lakefront living in Rancho Mirage. The property is located on a 13-acre lake with a private dock, offering panoramic views of the lake and mountains. The lakefront destination faces north by northwest, capturing warm sun even in winter. The lake offers boating and fishing. Or, guests can simply enjoy the unique location from the enlarged patio, which boasts a private spa.

Our group acquired The Palm Springs Hotel in 2013. Set in one of America’s hottest resort destinations, the hotel offers the ultimate Palm Springs boutique experience. The desert-modernist architecture and bold interior flair, along with 21st-century appointments, evoke an unforgettable sense of storytelling and design. Art and furnishings are tailor-made and custom curated by renowned design house ModShop by Room Service.

In 2018, we added Hideaway Santa Barbara to our collection. Hideaway Santa Barbara is meticulously curated with casual elegance and a California Coastal aesthetic. Housed in a 1908 California Craftsman and a secluded Carriage House, the intimate nine-room hotel is comprised of deluxe guest rooms and spacious suites, offering views of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the historic Fernald Mansion.

In the same year, we began managing Garden Street Inn, a vision of charm nestled in the vibrant historic core of Downtown San Luis Obispo, within California’s central-coast wine country. The 8,000-square-foot 1887 Italianate / Queen Ann Victorian Mansion recently went through a renovation, and the new design delivers a modern take on the classic Victorian aesthetic.

Our group added Blue Sands Inn to our portfolio in 2019. Located just steps from Santa Barbara’s famous East Beach and within walking distance to great restaurants, the Santa Barbara Zoo, the Wharf, and the famed Funk Zone, the Blue Sands Inn is centrally located in one of Santa Barbara’s most sought-after neighborhoods. Embracing Santa Barbara’s creative community, every aspect of the hotel is dedicated to the support and implementation of local artists and artisans. The pet-friendly property has a pool, an outdoor seating area, a spacious lobby to lounge in, plus rooms with fireplaces and views of the ocean or pool.

In 2021, our group acquired Seven Gables Inn. Seven Gables Inn was built in 1886 as a stately Victorian mansion located along the Monterey Peninsula's oceanfront. In 1982, the Flatley family reimagined the mansion into a luxury inn. Over the decades, the Flatleys acquired adjacent parcels, growing the hotel to 25 keys, including two guest cottages consisting of multi-bedroom suites with unobstructed ocean views and coastal mountain views beyond. The hotel has repeatedly won accolades as one of the top 10 most romantic inns in America.

In 2022, we acquired Centrella Hotel, a National Historic Landmark near the shores of Monterey Bay. Located in Pacific Grove, Centrella Hotel dates back to the late 19th century. The building’s architecture is designed in a striking Victorian style, while each guest room features traditional furnishings and accents. Beyond the accommodations, guests can enjoy scenic beach walks, natural gardens, and charming small-town attractions just steps away from the hotel.

In June 2023, we acquired The Three Fifty Hotel in Downtown Palm Springs. Built in 1950, The Three Fifty Hotel features classic mid-century modern architecture centered around a Slim Aarons-worthy pool with striking views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Guests spend their days lounging in the sun soaked courtyard or cooling off in spacious guest rooms. With shops, galleries, and restaurants within steps of the hotel, guests have the best Palm Springs has to offer at their fingertips.

In June 2023, we acquired Del Marcos Hotel, an icon in the desert, as legendary as the town itself. Designed by William F. Cody in 1947, this historic hotel embodies the spirit of Palm Springs and transports guests back to the desert's golden era. With its famous mid-century modern architecture, stunning mountain views, and a pool to help beat the heat, Del Marcos Hotel has everything guests need for the ideal Palm Springs experience.

In June 2023, we acquired La Serena Villas, located in the heart of Downtown Palm Springs. Nestled in the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood, La Serena Villas is a gem in the desert. Complete with a pool, spa, and an acclaimed bar and restaurant, Azúcar, this hot spot is the ultimate oasis. Guests receive a five-star experience and stay in private, luxury villas, each featuring a patio with lounge seating, a fireplace, and a clawfoot tub or spa.
